Movement is a language. Through learning, teaching, collaborating, and creating art with movement and dance, there exists a powerful vehicle of self-discovery and social change. In San Diego, California, TranscenDANCE Youth Arts Project takes local youth on this journey. Students go through intensive technical dance theater training and personal exploration by way of leadership development, community-building activities, and service projects with the ultimate goal of creating dynamic performances that synthesize their artistic strengths while addressing complex social issues that impact their community.
